And then some adventure thrown in for extra spice

After our romp on the beach, we were getting hungry, for lunch and site-seeing. Bouncing over a couple of miles of dirt roads in our little Elf. Many interesting views were there for the offering. We got a good chuckle out of these vultures hanging out at the top of the cactus- just like the comics. Think Wallace and Junior from Hank the cowdog.

We decided to head over to the Marine Park at Cabo Pulmo, we had heard that their were some pretty good restaurants. We stopped here and had fish taco's, they really were yummy. They get fresh fish every day.
This little establishment was much smaller than I had been expecting. A couple of restaurants, a few houses, and a scuba/snorkeling/kayaking shop. That was it. The reef is supposedly beautiful here, the best on the pacific. the waves were a little too intimidating for me and we had all our snorkel stuff back at the Casa. So we watched the other brave souls and were thankful to be dry. We did get to see some whales blowing and breaching but they were out quite a ways.

This here is Grant with a pretty cool whale skeleton.

Victoria likes fish taco's!
Then we went a little further down the dirt road to La Playa which was just a fishing village right on the beach. The natives were just living in little hut type houses. Kids were running around everywhere and the fishing must have been good by all the vultures and pelicans happily bouncing around.

This is a beautiful beach!

Hey! Wait for me!!!!!

Clicking on this picture should give you a better idea of what the "town" was like. They all seemed to be happy with the simplicity of their lives. I am sure that they have plenty of desperation when it is stormy though.

The livelihood.

And Grant, wet as usual on our way back "home". It really was a great day.

It was good you got to see some of the countryside...we missed that. It would have been an enlightening experience for the kids to see how many others live in the third world countries.
