Happy Mothers Day

Give Me Back My Mother's Hands

Oh, give me back those hands again,

Those strong and work etched hands,

Those hands that rocked me baby-bye

Way back in babyland,

The hands that pressed me to her breast

And stroked my fevered brow;

Oh, give me back those hands again.

I long to feel them now.

Oh, let me see those gentle hands,

Those feeble, wrinkled hands,

Those loving hands that guided me

And helped me understand;

Oh let me stroke them tenderly

For just a little while.

Give me back my mother's hands

And with them, too, her smile.

Thanks for the touching poem & photos of your Mom & the family. There is always a tender spot in our hearts for our Mothers because they loved us so much and did so much for us.

Happy Mothers Day to you too, Elaine!

Happy Mothers Day! Excellent sentiment in this, especially the spiritual implication. It seems to emulate motherhood as a type of Christ, pretty accurate I'd say.

Remember your mother's hands extend through you to your children. Keep them warm and soft.

My friend, I send you a big hug! You are a great mother to be celebrated -- and I know your Mother is there interceding that it stays that way. She'll have you always in her heart as well, until the day you finish victorious! Happy Mother's Day!

Love the pictures, and especially the one with you kids with your mom and the "Burban C" in the background! Happy Mothers day. Also, wanted to let you know that Mom, Gwen and I are planning a reunion in Riveton July 11-13th weekend. An e-mail will be going out soon. Hope to see you there.

OK, let me blow my nose, it's running for some reason. When my Father died it made me hope my children wouldn't love as much so that they didn't feel such a horrible loss..but not really hope it, because I want them to love me while I'm alive. Life has so many lessons for us to learn and many of them are hard. Thanks for sharing your Mother this way.

I LOVE the poem, it is really touching, and I liked to read the other comments too. I have to say I feel like all of them.
I love the pictures, especially the one of your Mom and you in 1980.
