We mailed in our ballets last week. I don't feel good about this election. I'm pretty sure its not going to go the way I want it to. If who I think is going to get in, gets in, I'm very concerned. However, I just have to remember that even when man rules, God overrules.
Some of our initiatives are pretty important to be voting on also. We have an initiative that changes our state constitution to say that marriage is between a man and a women (just for clarification). We also have initiatives on immigration. Pretty important stuff. Just important that people go out and vote!
I think we're in for major changes. It's a new era. Democracy and capitalism are going to be challenged as never before, the Treasury Dept. is submitting to Shariah law, and the American public doesn't seem to sense the threat. But we know Truth can't be challenged. It is what it is, and will not change.
America is spoiled. In general we have more, live better and have more freedoms than nearly all of the rest of the world. Employment while a little over 6% is much lower than most countries. But Americans in general have become a greedy people. Everyone wants more for less...this is not feasible. The current financial crisis is serious and much of it was caused by greed, lack of long range views and lack of moral character...get mine now and don't worry about what happens in the future. Give people too much credit, too easy credit and they consume more than they can afford.
Still, I think in the big picture there are still enough intellengnt, cabable Americans to make the system work. I have a lot of concern but am optimistic in a cautious way.
In the long run Gods purpose will be fulfilled. But his ways are different than our ways and we have difficulty determining what they are or what is happening until we look back and see...yup that was Gods plan.
I'm just very thankful that no matter what, there is a reason that we will most likely not fully understand in this lifetime! When the U.S. first went to this latest Iraq war, Uncle Dick reminded us that ALL power is ordained of God and I've had to remember that -- and treasure that many times since -- looking to the present and even in examining the past. Today I had a conversation with a man and the one thing that came to me and that I have thought often of since, no matter who is in control of our land (or any for that matter!) I am still the only one in control of every one of my own decisions!
