I forgot to mention in my ghost town post that ol' J.C. was once apon a time named "Home on the Range" Really. This log cabin is still pristine and sits on the edge of town. It has seen a whole "city" come and go. When my dad was small this was the post office. The sign says Peterson and the home was owned by Beulah Peterson Walker when I was a child. I do not know who owns it now but it would be interesting to find out.

You can find the pepper jelly recipe on our family's recipe site. It is on my family link list:Ciao Down. My niece left a fairly good detail of how to make it. I roughly blend/grind red bell pepper(about 2) until I get 1/2 cup, then hot finger peppers til I get 1/2 cup(about 8), then throw both kinds of the peppers in the blender with 1/2 cup of golden raisins. I keep the liquid that is in the blender from the chopping process--it's not that exact of a recipe. The red peppers you see in my latest post is the size I cut them before putting in blender. Green peppers are cheaper and just as good(not quite as sweet maybe), but the red is much prettier. Let me know how you all like it! Takes about 20 min. start to finish.
