Local Artist

This painting was done by a daily painter who has a blog I frequent. He is out here in the NW and I am looking for anyone wanting to go with me for a little day trip to the San Juan's to see his studio. If you are interested let me know! I love these little peeps, and the soft blues, browns and violet of their surroundings. So very lovely. I also enjoy this artist's sense of humor and his depictions of old tools. I have been watching his renderings so that someday I can get up the nerve to try one of my own. Gentry has Grandpa Burgess's tools right now and I would love to try and paint them. Intimidating when there is talent like this out there.

The Circus is in town....

We had a wonderful group of fellers over to help celebrate Grant's birthday, they created thier own pizza's.....
Crooned as Grant blew out his candles (sorry my flash didn't work here)
And helped blow out any he may have missed. It was a lot of fun, I really enjoyed my time with all these guys, and those below who had to leave early.

Boyz and Goof (golf/goof)

Consult time.
We be cool.
Ambush!!
These two are naturals.
Hmm. Where did the bright pink ball go. (It is funny at this age to like pink and be a boy...)
Bright sun! Finally!

A little more thought went into this shot.
Conrad, what a smile!
Daike takes a shot.
Sorry, Chase, I did not wait for the focus beep. Patience is not my forte.

$0.14

Can you even believe it?
I spent two man days running around, finding tax records, getting copies and sitting in an auditor's office. (Value of my time? Difficult to calculate but invaluable to me.)
Gentry spent time on the phone- Anger managment sessions with me. ( My rate just went up!)
My accountant spent several hours on the phone with me, looking up records, getting copies. (Value of over $200.00)
An employee of the Washington State Employment Security office spent two man days using a fine tooth comb to sift through all our records...at the expense of the taxpayers......(Value? None.)

All because of a 14 cent discrepancy. HELLO!!!! They say that we were a random audit but I do not prescribe to that particular theory, but nice try. We had an employee (underage neighbor kid at the spec house who we could write a book about) that we went to the trouble of getting a special permit to let him to work for us, he worked for two hours, unsupervised, without our knowledge or permission, without signing his W-4, and expected to get paid. We reluctantly paid him, paid the taxes on him but did not have a ss# (they moved) so didn't file the a W-2 on him. Funny? Somewhat. Expensive, very. Time is so precious.

A party for a bunch of folks who are getting on in years....

"Nanna nanna nanna, It's not my birthday! "

It's not ours either! Whew!

He's getting old, but fighting it every step of the way! Associating with kids keeps you young!

This old feller claims to be camera shy.

But he sure is spry! (That rhyme's!)

Strongly defying the ageing process!

Ageing gracefully?

Beth asked Gentry if he could feed Danny a bottle. His reply? "Well, I 'spose if it's like feeding calves." Guess Danny decided it would work out OK that way.

Grill Chef!

" These are looking mighty tasty!" And they were, thanks Tooie!

I'm a very happy Mommy!

I have so many people to thank for making my mother's day the best ever. Gentry got me the tulips and the roses below, and made me a fabulous steak for lunch. My children have a wonderful personal shopper in their Auntie Beth who helped them purchase the strainer tea cups above. I got one in each color and mix and matched the strainer! I even have my favorite tea around here to make loose leaf tea. Sigh.....Thanks Gentry, Beth, Toria, and Grant!
Then there is a special friend who gave me this lovely card and cup. The cup is a perfect size, shape and color! It fits in the palm of my hand, and the smaller opening keeps my coffee hot for a very long time. Ahhh. Thanks Mel.
And here is the picture of the roses from my hubby, beautiful! Aw, shucks....

And thanks to all of you who sent wishes, posted comments and remembered my mom with me. It really was a special day!

Happy Mothers Day

Give Me Back My Mother's Hands

Oh, give me back those hands again,

Those strong and work etched hands,

Those hands that rocked me baby-bye

Way back in babyland,

The hands that pressed me to her breast

And stroked my fevered brow;

Oh, give me back those hands again.

I long to feel them now.

Oh, let me see those gentle hands,

Those feeble, wrinkled hands,

Those loving hands that guided me

And helped me understand;

Oh let me stroke them tenderly

For just a little while.

Give me back my mother's hands

And with them, too, her smile.

The Emudogaffo

Emudogaffo is a legandary creature from the far away country of Marzil. It lays golden eggs, barks and runs through tall grass with ferocious speed. He is the cousin of Zeus, and a distant decendent of the great Old English Mastiff Zorba and has a bellow that can be heard across the sky when angered.

Embossed Copper by the Great Grantonardo

Hmmm.

You may well wonder what this is. A few years ago I had my dad take some pictures of this interesting "sculpture" of old junk cars in the sagebrush which I have attempted to render in melted crayon (I have new crayons to play with and it is irresitable). It is being posted reluctantly, since only two of the cars look like what they should (cars) but I really don't have much else to post, since you probably dont want to see pictures of my quarterly taxes, which is the other thing I have been working on. Bleh.

Happy Girl!!

The above are pictures of Torvicia with her new phone. Oh, she is so very happy, the kids at school were making life rough, but mom came to the rescue! She was able to buy the "cooler" side slide phone with babysitting money and yes it is green! So kool. She texted everyone she had time to fit in and found out that our dear Pops is pretty with it! It is fun to have such a hip Grampa! Well, ttfn...
